Matt Chandler
Mingling of Souls
I was driving home and heard about this book. It sounds like an interesting read: The difference between commitment and covenant marriages. It's like going a step above. When the going gets tough, do you get going or do you stick it out? Marriage vows say for better or for worse but how many people really mean it? Especially when you look at the high divorce rate all over our country today. The person you marry is probably the biggest decision you will ever make because of the potential impact on your life.

Jane Austen
Price and Prejudice
Meet Mr. Darcy lately? Sometimes the person you marry is the last person you would want to marry... Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy get off on the wrong foot and through a series of twists and turns finally come to the conclusion that they were wrong about each other: Wrong enough to fall madly in love with each other. Confound it!

Reason and Romance
Have you ever read a Jane Austen novel? Then you will like this one. It's a modern day version of Sense and Sensibility. There are so many different types of versions around. Even some you would most likely have never thought of...
I am reading this one and a friend is reading another version. Like they say, "birds of a feather flock together." If you are a bookworm then know I am a bookworm too!

The Mystery of the Doppelganger
Who? Me? What?
Ever meet a double
of yourself?
Or did someone you know
meet your doppelganger?
Who is it?
Do you know?
I don't know
but I know I have one.
Why? And how...
Who would be me
but me?
Could there be
another me?
They say
everyone in the world
has a double.
What happens
if you meet
a double of yourself?
Do you speak?
Or do you carefully
walk away?
Why? What? Me?

You sometimes wonder what happens if your worlds collide with each other as George Costanza from Seinfeld always used to worry about. I've had two friends that know me pretty well come across my doppelganger: One out of state friend wondered why I didn't tell her I was in town visiting and the other wondered why I wouldn't friend her on Facebook... What can I say but that it couldn't be me... But obviously I have a doppelganger... The craziest doppelganger of all is someone that looks like you and has the same name as you but isn't you... So who in the world is it?

Mayo Clinic
Book of Home Remedies
I passed someone in the hallway today that had this book. I personally have always been into holistic medicine as opposed to prescription medicine. Do you ever watch those commercials with all the side effects if you take a certain medicine? I'm always thinking I'd rather have the condition than the side effects. Don't you agree?
The Mayo Clinic offers a website with a lot of medical information if you care to check it out. I have a childhood friend that did his residency there. From what I hear it's the number one match in the country medically speaking.

Solomon's Decision
A Wise Choice...
Long ago
there lived
two women
with two babies.
During the night
one child dies
and the other baby
is stolen.
An argument
occurs...
who is the baby's
real mother?
The women
seek out the King
who listens and decides
to cut the baby in half.
One woman cries out no.
Give the baby to the other woman.
The other woman says ok.
Do it.
The King gives the baby
to the woman who was willing
to give up her son
so he could live.
She was the real mother...

What compares to a mother's love for her child? Of a child's love for the parent? In many instances we see sacrificial love between family members. The things we do when we love someone: The sacrifices we make for them...
