Langston Hughes
Dreams
Hold fast to dreams For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow.Once upon a dream... Where would we be without our dreams? Do you have a dream? Are you pursuing it? If you are not, why? Not?
Albert Einstein
"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."
I like this quote because it makes you realize that there are people out there that give their lives to help others even at great cost to themselves. There are people who watch the world go by and then there are people who go out into the world and change it. Who is the world? We are the world!

The Dream Giver
"Who is the Dream Giver?" Do you have a dream? Are you pursuing it? Why aren't you? If you have a dream then you need to pursue it.
There was a time when I realized that I was working in a corporate job that was squashing my dreams. My talents were being wasted. And I began praying to God to help me to discover my talents and to use them for his glory. I am now pursuing my dream. It is still in the beginning stages but at least I have decided to do something about it rather then just let life bleed me dry.
What are you doing today? Are you wasting your life working in a job that you don't love? Then do something about it! Carpe Diem!

Psalm
23
The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Amen.
This is a classic. I grew up memorizing it and I remember it still. It makes me think of green fields on a side of a mountain with numerous sheep all over it.

Mark Twain
Favorite Quote
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
This has been a favorite quote of mine forever it seems because it has nuances to sailing but it also is about a life's journey. Our life is what we make it. We can choose wisely or we can be fools. It's really up to you!

Torrential Downpour Haiku
When it Rains, It Pours
The sound you hear from
outside your window is rain
coming down heavy.
@JoSH Poetic Popcorn Poetry
Life is like this sometimes, when it rains, it pours, or it doesn't rain at all. I wish we could give some of this rain to California. Stay dry if you can!

Dr. Seuss or Robert Fulghum?
“We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”
Not sure who actually said this first but it's attributed to both Dr. Seuss and Robert Fulghum. You decide!

A Jiffy Story
July 2nd
A baby giraffe was born and promptly named Jiffy because he loves peanut butter. He had many adventures: He knew what it was like to listen to live music, smell the flowers, eat Froyo, and be behind bars. But then a very bad thing happened. During one of his photo opps he lost his back legs. With a heavy heart he was taken to the balloon surgeon who gave him new legs.
Now he is better than he was before, faster than he was before, and bionic to boot!
Say "Hello" to Super Jiffy!
