Matthew

6:28

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

We worry don't we?  We worry all the time.  Even when we know better and try not to worry, we still worry...  It's hard not to worry about the people we care about and to worry about ourselves.  Face it!  Life is not exactly what it used to be years ago when we all had good old-fashioned values and could trust people.  Now we have to be discerning...  because of all the crazies out there...

Everyday

Ordinary People

Ordinary people
People we remember
People we forget
People we can't forget
The decisions we make
The roads we take
The lives we live
The people we meet
The people we take
The people we leave behind
The real secret
There is no ordinary
Just the extraordinary
Our decisions change us
Our paths mold us
Our lives grow us
Be extraordinary!

Really when you think about it there is no such thing as average because we are all miracles...  The human body is a miracle the way it heals itself...  Our lives are unique because we all have a different story...  You share yours and I share mine...  And sometimes we share a moment or a series of moments or a lifetime!

True Loneliness

Like No Other

You & Me
For eternity
We thought
But it was
Not to be
Your family
My family
The life
We chose
Did not include
Each other
It should have
But it didn't
Looking back
What regret
Looking forward
Does hope exist?
Will I ever feel
That way again?
In the beginning
When possibilities existed
Before the world
Came crushing down
Around us
Changing the
Course of
Our lives
Forever...

Did anyone ever tell you that there's more than one kind of loneliness?  There's the loneliness you feel when you don't know anyone and you're starting off in a new place...  But there's also the loneliness you feel when you miss that one special someone...  All the people in the world will never fill that spot...  Be it your spouse, your parents, your children if they are taken from you...  You will always miss them!

The Touch of the Masters Hand

'Twas battered and scarred,
And the auctioneer thought it
hardly worth his while
To waste his time on the old violin,
but he held it up with a smile.
"What am I bid, good people", he cried,
"Who starts the bidding for me?"
"One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?"
"Two dollars, who makes it three?"
"Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three,"
But, No,
From the room far back a gray bearded man
Came forward and picked up the bow,
Then wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet
As sweet as the angel sings.
The music ceased and the auctioneer
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said "What now am I bid for this old violin?"
As he held it aloft with its' bow.
"One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?"
"Two thousand, Who makes it three?"
"Three thousand once, three thousand twice,
Going and gone", said he.
The audience cheered,
But some of them cried,
"We just don't understand."
"What changed its' worth?"
Swift came the reply.
"The Touch of the Masters Hand."
"And many a man with life out of tune
All battered and bruised with hardship
Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd
Much like that old violin
A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on.
He is going once, he is going twice,
He is going and almost gone.
But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the Touch of the Masters' Hand.

I was at church this past weekend and the message was about a violin:  A violin broken by accident but fixed and playing music as beautiful as ever.  Isn't is reassuring that no matter how broken we are that God can still do a work in us?

Hinds' Feet on High Places

My Father recommended this book to me years ago.  I read it years ago but what I remember is that this is the story of "Much-Afraid."  Many of us are "much afraid" at different points in our lives.  And we have to go through myriad obstacles and unknown paths to transform into what the Loving Shepherd meant for us to become.

Happy Father's Day!  Many Thanks for the Many Book Recommendations Dad!

Who Moved My Cheese?

There's a funny story about an open window and a mouse.  But not this story...  Did you know that mice climb up walls?  Well living in the country you learn a lot of things about a lot of different animals.  Some of which you have probably never seen before.  How about a frog?  Watching you through the window?  They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince but seriously?

The Manipulative

Wants What it Wants

True love cares
for the other person more
than it cares for itself
but some people
want what they want
and they say anything to get it.
They become
what the other person wants
and connive, lie, and manipulate
on the surface
but deep down they know
that if the other person
knew what they were really like
they would never want them.
But selfish desires
wants what it wants
and two lives are ruined forever.

@JoSH Poetic Popcorn Poetry

If you truly want to find the right one for you than be yourself:  Be honest & true.  However some people hate themselves and so they find someone they know they can control and little by little turn the other person into a monster like themselves.  I despise these people!

A guy once told me that all is fair in love and war but love that is only one-sided is not true love, is it?  It's like The Princess Bride.  She was waiting for true love and when he didn't show up another guy wanted her for himself even though she didn't even want him.  God gives us free will to live our lives as we want to but if a guy tried to take away my free will from me I would hate him forever.
