Humidity Haiku

The Wetlands

So much stickiness...
Clothing sticks, hair clings, armpits...
Perspire through clothing.

@JoSH Popcorn Poet

Ugh!  Am I right or am I right?  This weather pattern lately has been humidity, monsoon, cool down.  The heat of July is beating down upon us however July is now at an end so...  Fare thee well...  Hot, hot, hot...  Not, not, not...  Into it so much...

Proverbs

15:29

The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous."

Recently I had heard a radio preacher talking about this.  I never thought about the fact that God doesn't hear the prayers of the wicked.  I thought that he heard all our prayers but this does make more sense.  Not everyone's prayers get answered and this is why.  It depends on our heart attitude.  However not all prayers are answered yes.  Sometimes God says no.  I think about that saying, "Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it."  It's food for thought...

Revealed

Onion Layers

Like an onion
we have layers
that need
to be
peeled back.

Because...
if there
is anything
that has happened
and was never dealt with
then it will
come out.

Sometimes
in ways
that you never
knew imaginable.
It will come out.

So peel away
a layer
one layer
at a time
to heal
and grow
and become...

Whole again!

@JoSH Poetic Popcorn Poetry

Don't live a life of being fake and less than...  Be genuine...  Sometimes the only way to become genuine and healthy is to go deep inside and uncover what you never wanted to remember or go back to.  Unless you deal with what's inside you will always be running.  Do yourself a favor and don't run!  Peel and become whole again.

Foundational Truth

The Glass House

Within the walls
of a perfect house
is a perfect family.

Pretty wife...
loving husband...
a child or two...

Beauty is only
skin deep
and is shallow...

Unless the beauty
comes from within.
Then beauty is genuine.

Around the house
the glass allows
others to observe.

The glass shatters
and destroys
the people within...

Because beauty
was not genuine.

Beauty was
only skin deep.

Beauty only cared
about herself.

Beauty was an illusion
and only hid the ugly within.

 @JoSH Poetic Popcorn Poetry

Have you ever come across someone that was so pretty on the outside but so ugly within?  Isn't it difficult to be around someone like that?  It depends on what you value...  If your values are shallow you will not care but if your values are true then it will bother you...

What comes to mind is the verse about building a house on sand.  You must always build a house on a firm foundation if you want to withstand the storms in life.

Psalm

25

"In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust."

Sometimes in life you need prayer and forgiveness especially the ability to forgive.  Forgiveness is hard on so many levels.  Some people will never admit that they did anything wrong.  In their eyes they are perfect.  It's so difficult to forgive someone like this.  I have to admit that it's refreshing when you meet someone who owns up to their mistakes and can be truly transparent.  A truly innocent person will undergo scrutiny but a guilty one can't abide it.  Guilt over the years will destroy and turn what was once beautiful into something very ugly.  I find it so hard to see this unfold.  I would rather not see it happen...

2 Timothy

1:7

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Sometimes in this helter-skelter world we live in do you sometimes wonder if you can go on?  I think it's a question we all ask ourselves.  We all have good days and we all have bad days.  We all have fears that we need to overcome.  God says that he gave us power, love, and a sound mind to overcome our fears.  Trust & Believe!  And most of all make sure your heart is where it should be.  Because God knows our hearts.

Boom Boom

Happy 4th!

Matthew

25:35

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in..."

Random acts of kindnesses rarely go unnoticed.  Sometimes you are the giver and sometimes you are the receiver.  In either case something in each of us is touched by a kind act and in return we go and do a kind act for someone else.  If you look around there are homeless people all over the city.  We all struggle and most of us are probably a paycheck away from being homeless ourselves.
