Talking to Strangers

Remember growing up and having your parents tell you not to talk to strangers?  Maybe there is a good reason for that...  Nowadays if you express anxiety about strangers then your doctor may put you on anti-anxiety medicine which defeats the purpose because then how will you know?

1 Peter

3:12

"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

Guess what?  Who looks at the heart?  God said that David was a man after his own heart but what kind of man was David?  He was an adulterer, a liar, and a murderer...  And the list goes on...  But did he let David have his own way in everything?  No...  Remember there are four answers to prayer:  no, grow, slow, and go...  The thing that God loved most about David was that he was repentant...

Ephesians

6:12

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Would you recognize if evil smacked you in the face?  Usually evil masquerades as good...  That's why so many people are fooled...  They come across as unsuspecting and on your side...  In the last days there will be many wolves in sheep's clothing but in the end there is one ultimate Judas that is going to want everything from you...  especially your allegiance...  and he will come as a man of peace...  not war...  he will not turn your world upside down and ask you to have courage...

No the ultimate Judas wants you to conform and go quietly and comply with his demands...

Remember the Sadducees and the Pharisees?  They were not followers of the Way...

It was a dark day indeed...

A Severe Mercy

What is love?  Have you experienced a once in a lifetime kind of love?  This love story is about an eros kind of love but then turns into a pursuit of an agape kind of love...  Which is more satisfying in the long run?  And what will guarantee you a spot up above?  Of course, you can always go below...

On This Day

Sometimes it helps to read about past miracles and inspirational stories of what has already happened...  It gives you hope for another miracle...  Especially when everything seems to be going down the drain...  Around the world...  And everywhere...

Luke

18:1

"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up."

Ever feel like giving up?  Because you're discouraged?  Well sometimes that is a sign to let go and let God...  Sometimes you can be your own worst enemy...  I went through a period in my life where nothing seemed to go right and whatever I did to make it right just made it more wrong...  I was at my wit's end...  Finally the worst happened but it was actually a blessing in disguise...  Always keep praying but pray for God's will...

1 Peter

5:8

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

What you see is what you get...  Who do you need to be more careful of?  The person you know is obnoxious and a jerk at times or the super smooth nice guy that you would never suspect of ulterior motives?  I had the opportunity to work for both in my lifetime...  And believe me when I say that a super smooth will stab you in the back when you least expect it...

Psalm

66:18

"If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;"

Remember you need to ask for the right things in prayer and you need to have a heart of contrition...  You need to be able to take the higher ground...  And your heart has to be right...  Remember Facing the Giants?  That movie is a great example of getting things right with God before and during prayer...
