Ruth & Boaz
Love is kind
not boastful
or proud.
Even coming
from a land
far away.
I lay
before you
on a threshing floor.
Hoping you
will do right
by me.
I glean
in your fields
while you provide.
For me
and my family
given by God.
I had
lost everything
and yet I came.
Not knowing
but knowing
this was meant to be.
For without our union
a genetic miracle
would never be.
A harlot
beget a son
and a foreigner
beget a king
who would be
king forever
and ever.

This poem was inspired by the book of Ruth. Ruth has always been a favorite of mine because it is a love story and I like romances. Especially those with a happy ending.
