Revelations

6:12-17

12 I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood. 13 Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind. 14 The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places.
15 Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. 17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?”

Now read this passage and think about how crazy this is...  These people know that God exists and yet they won't repent...  They are actually asking the rocks and mountains to kill them which means they enter hell...  Does that make any sense to you?  Like REALLY!!!

1 Timothy

6:6-10

Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

We've all heard that "the love of money is the root of all evil..."  Well guess where that idea comes from?  It doesn't say money but the love of money...  Some people with lots of money have done great things for the greater good but some people would be too irresponsible with too much money...

Don't you agree?

Agur

30:8-9

First, help me never to tell a lie.
Second, give me neither poverty nor riches!
Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.
For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?”
And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name.

This is an apt prayer, don't you think?  People who are too rich sometimes have no idea what to do with themselves and buy gold toilets and get mixed up in drugs and what not...

And look at what happened  in Les Miserables...

In Timothy it says that we are blessed if we have clothes to wear and food to eat...  Do you have clothes to wear and food to eat?

People who go through the Impossible know what is really important in life...

Jen Wilkin

God of Creation

I am beginning this study because spring is the beginning of the growing cycle and so it was apt that I start at the very beginning...  I have already done Jen's Revelations study which is about the end...  And her Sermon on the Mount...  All tremendous studies...  I highly recommend them!
