Lee Strobel
The Case for Christ
How many atheists do you know that have changed their minds about God? Lee Strobel was such a atheist and his story is told in The Case for Christ. He has also written on The Case for Heaven and The Case for Christmas. Or you can see the movies...
Here is a list of former atheists:

Paul the Apostle
Romans 13
13 Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. 2 So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. 3 For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. 4 The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. 5 Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should.
6 Pay your taxes too, for these same two reasons. For government workers need to be paid so that they can keep on doing God’s work, serving you. 7 Pay everyone whatever he ought to have: pay your taxes and import duties gladly, obey those over you, and give honor and respect to all those to whom it is due.
Death and taxes... Should you respect your government? Should you respect your policemen? Do you recall reading this passage? I wonder what God is thinking when he looks down on us down here and how we have violated his word on government...

The Founding Fathers
Mayflower Compact
"Having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian Faith, and honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the Northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God and one another, covenant, and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof do enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience."
Why is there a separation of church and state when our founding fathers were extremely liberal in their use God in our official documents, coins, and public buildings?
Are we not "In God We Trust"? And do we not pledge allegiance "to the republic for which it stands, One Nation Under God"?
