Frozen in Time
Once upon a time
a princess existed
with special powers
that she couldn't control.
She withdrew into herself
to protect the ones she loved
little knowing that her loved ones
didn't understand her actions.
Instead they felt left out
and unloved and hurt.
They didn't realize that
she loved them too much.
So she built a castle
frozen and icy cold
where she lived a life
of solitary confinement.
Self-imposed and separate
from the rest of the
kingdom that she was
meant to be Queen of.
Until she found
the key to controlling
her arctic powers.
Love conquers all!
@JoSH Poetic Popcorn Poetry 2014
This poem was inspired by the movie Frozen. It was a movie about a princess that had special powers that she couldn't control so she set herself apart from other people and especially her sister. Sometimes in life we push people away that we love in order to protect them. Little knowing how much we hurt the ones we love in the process. This poem is dedicated to my sister, who although we don't see eye to eye with each other most of the time, do care about each other nonetheless.
