An artsy field of corn!

Why Dublin

Working in a cubicle for necessary pay
Makes it worthwhile for a longer stay
Rather than a visit to a city green
Filled with rolling meadows that are somewhat clean
From overabundant trash and dirty debris
Making it serene as far as the eye can see.

A tall, majestic cornfield stands in a grassy plain
Like an entire military army without a single stain.
Emerald Parkway weaves in and out
Like a serpent in the grass and roundabout
And annually an Irish Festival appears
For which the entire city is willing to go in arrears.

Looking out the window during early sunrise
You sometimes catch a deer caught in utter surprise
At all the construction, building, and noise;
To the point that all the deer lose their poise
And the birds fly around with the wings all aflutter,
Just out of want for their bread and butter.

Dublin, Ohio is not the Dublin in Ireland

But with eyes closed, you just might envision fairyland.

This poem was inspired while I was looking outside my window at work years ago.  It's amazing but there really is a field of corn that is all made up of sculptures.
